History of the Company. In 1936, while walking along the shore of Georgian Bay, Doug McKittrick came upon the local wooden lighthouse engulfed in flames. He captured this amazing photo with his father's Box Brownie camera, processed the film, and rushed the results to the Evening Telegram Newspaper. To his delight, they actually paid him 7 dollars for the eventful photograph. There was no turning back. The future of McKittrick's was cast.
