| Habitat for Humanity is a "hand-up not a hand-out." Our long-term goal is the elimination of poverty housing. Habitat works through the partnership of volunteers, homeowners, churches, businesses and communities. An Ecumenical Christian housing ministry, Habitat for Humanity's policies are inclusive and nondiscriminatory. Homeowners contribute 500 hours of "SWEAT EQUITY" towards the construction of their own homes. Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit, non-government organization that grants interest-free, long-term mortgages that are continually recycled to build more houses. |
